A memorial service to celebrate the life of Tarcela Acaba "Terry" Collins will be held Saturday, at 1:00 pm on June 21, 2014 at Kornegay Funeral Home, Camden Chapel.
Mrs. Collins died Monday, June 16, 2014, at the age of 72, at her home in Camden. She was born in Samar, Philippines, November 16, 1941, the daughter of the late Florentino and Eutikia Acaba. She is the oldest of six siblings.
She lived in the Philippines until 1971 and moved to South Carolina in the same year at the age of 28. She retained her U.S. Citizenship in 1980.
She began working at Jubilee Embroidery in 1976 until retirement in 2009. She was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. In her retirement, she enjoyed gardening and traveling around the world.
She is survived in death by her twin daughters, her son-in-laws, and five grandchildren:
Lisa and Scottie Williams of Clifton, Virginia and their children Carlson, Victoria and Jacqueline Williams, Leslie and Charles Khan of Centreville, Virginia and their children Ashton and Christina Khan; sister, Narcisa Raga of Botoc Pinabacdao Samar; brother, Teodoro Acaba of Bacolod City Negros Occidental; sister, Luz Cordero of Manila Philippines; sister, Rosita Gilhang of Lamigao Samar; brother, Pablo Acaba of Botoc Pinabacdao Samar; brother, Mariano Acaba of Botoc Pinabacdao Samar; sister, Lourdes Salvador of Manila Philippines.
