Mrs. Thelma A.Washington entered into eternal life on Thursday, September 25, 2015, at the Hospice of the Piedmont, in High Point, North Carolina, following an extended illness. Thelma was born on May 15, 1949, in Camden, South Carolina to the late Ada and Edward Alexander Jr.
Those left to cherish her fond memories and celebrate her home going are her loving husband Leroy Washington of 47 years, daughter Sharon (Anthony) Nelson, son, Leroy Washington III; four grandchildren, Anthony D. Nelson, Dominique S. Nelson, QuaShan Washington and Omarion Washington; two god daughters, Tanisha Hampton and Brittany Robinson; her siblings; Janie Borden, Robert (Maxine) Alexander and Shirley Alexander, Hattie (Robert) Hampton, James (Patricia) Alexander, Priscilla (Earl) Barnes, Bryan Alexander and Victoria Alexander, Gail (Arthur) Simon, Ada I. (Richard) Jackson; one uncle, Calvert Lee; one aunt, Mildred Paris; in-laws, George (Rosanna) Washington, Willie (Sharon) Alexander, Janie (Joe) Wilson and Simon Alexander and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, September 30, 2015 at St. Paul UMC, Camden, SC at 1:30 PM with burial in the church cemetery.
