Thelma Louise Brannon Harris, age 89, of Fayetteville, Ga., passed away Sunday afternoon, January 9, 2011. She is survived by her beloved husband of over 69 years, Raymond C. Harris and her son, Wayne G. Harris (Marilyn), both of Fayetteville, GA. She is also survived by her sister, Oralie Brown of Camden, SC and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Thelma was born October 28, 1921 in Camden, SC to William and Edith Brannon and was the youngest of five daughters. She met Raymond in Camden and married at age 19 and traveled throughout the US while he served in the military and then when he worked in construction as an electrician. After the birth of their son they lived mainly in Levittown, PA and then moved to GA in the 1970's, living in Morrow and Fayetteville, to be close to their son. Thelma worked briefly at JCPenney but spent most of her life as a homemaker and mother.

She was a member of the Leslie Zemp Eastern Star in Camden, SC and was of the Christian faith.

Thelma will be cremated and her cremains will be interred at the Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Camden, SC at a later date. There will be no services locally.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or to the American Kidney Fund in her name.
