Thelma Trapp Huggins, 90, fondly referred to as PC by her family and close friends, died peacefully at her home in Camden, South Carolina on Christmas Eve. The family will receive friends Wednesday, January 3rd from 4pm until 6pm at the Kornegay Funeral Home in Camden, 1112 Fair St. Camden, SC. A private burial service will be held.

Born in Camden, on November 14, 1927, Mrs. Huggins was the daughter of the late Walter Lewis Trapp and Alice Almeade Hornsby Trapp. She was the second youngest and last living of four siblings: Juanita Trapp Kirkland (Sam), Ellerbe Richard Trapp (Julia), Betty Trapp Russell (Russ). 

A few years after graduation from high school, the boy from next door returned from the war and they wed in 1948. Mrs. Huggins was proceeded in death by her husband, Harvin Kim Huggins, of 62 years. Mrs. Huggins had a long, varied work history, starting at Zemp Drug Store and finishing with a 22-year career at Kershaw County as the 911 Address Coordinator at the age of 82. Her famous candy jar was never empty and the only charge was a smile. At home, Mrs. Huggins was an outstanding seamstress, sewing the majority of the clothes for her children and the wedding dress of her eldest niece. She enjoyed decorating cakes, making ceramics, arranging flowers, hosting parties, and having large family gatherings at Thanksgiving. Mrs. Huggins was a member of Hermitage Baptist Church and then began watching First Baptist Church of Columbia on television after she stopped driving. She will be deeply missed by all her friends and family.  

Surviving family members include her eldest daughter Jackie Huggins, granddaughter Rebecca Huggins (Jim Morrison), grandson Michael Huggins, great-grandson Steven Morrison, a niece and several nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her youngest daughter, Shirley Huggins Kelly.
