A memorial service to celebrate the life of Theodocia "Theo" Hearon Branham, 81, of Elgin will be held Saturday, January 15, 2011 at 3:00 PM at Refuge Baptist Church. Rev. Tim Broughton will officiate. The family will receive friends Tuesday, December 28, 2010 from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at Kornegay Funeral Home, Lugoff-Elgin Chapel. The burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Mrs. Branham’s memory to Refuge Baptist Church, 2814 Lockhart Road, Kershaw, SC 29067.

Mrs. Branham died Sunday, December 26, 2010, Born in Camden, she was the daughter of the late John William Zimmerman Hearon and Mary "Mamie" Beatrice McCaskill Hearon. She was retired with Blue Cross Blue Shield after 30+ years of service. She played basketball for Baron DeKalb School and enjoyed watching basketball, gardening and watching things grow. Mrs. Branham was a longtime Sunday school teacher of the Ladies Class at Jackson Creek Baptist Church where she was a member. She was a devoted mother and grandmother.

Surviving are her sons, Steve Branham and his wife Elizabeth of St. Matthews, Jerry Branham and his wife Marilyn of Elgin, Gary Branham and his wife Ann Marie of Elgin and Gregory H. Branham, M.D. and his wife Cindy of St. Louis, MO; son-in-law, Peter Rohman of Stella, MO; 10 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren; sister, Sara Taylor and her husband Rendal of Cassatt and a dear friend Margie Geddings. She was predeceased by a daughter, Wanda Rohman, 7 sisters and 2 brothers.

Kornegay Funeral Home, Lugoff-Elgin Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
