Velma Munn Stokes Shealey died peacefully in her home on Monday, July 20, 2015.

She was predeceased by her husbands, Cecil Leroye “Roy” Stokes and John C. Shealey. Surviving are her sister, Lorene Rider; sons, Dwight and Michael Stokes; grandsons, Ty Stokes, Nathan and Troy Borgman; and seven great-grandchildren.

A longtime resident of Columbia, Velma retired from Southern Bell/AT&T after many years as a well-respected engineer. After building a home in Camden, Velma enjoyed a quiet life filled with nature, books, music and travel with friends and family. She attended and was involved in Antioch Baptist Church, Camden.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 25, 2015, at Antioch Baptist Church. Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel, is assisting the family.

In lieu of flowers, the family wishes donations to be made to Antioch Baptist Church, 1875 Antioch Road, Camden, SC 29020.
