A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated for Vergie Odom Bisbee, 92, of Camden, will be held at 9:30 a.m. today, March 9, 2018, at Saint John Neumann Catholic Church. Father Sandy McDonald will officiate. The Rite of Committal will follow in Fort Jackson National Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Saint John Neumann’s Catholic Church, 100 Polo Road, Columbia, SC 29223, Knights of Columbus, 1623 Marion Street, Columbia, SC 29201 or American Cancer Society, Relay for Life of Kershaw County, 647 Lachicotte Road, Lugoff, SC 29078.

Vergie died Wednesday, March 7, 2018. She was born in Maxton, NC, the daughter of the late Willie Vernon Odom and Vertie Thompson Odom. Vergie was a charter member of St. John Neumann Catholic Church.

Vergie is survived by her husband, Anatole E. “Andy” Bisbee; daughters, Ann McLean Denton (JoJo) of Camden and Helen M. Carroll (Tom) of Midlothian, VA; grandchildren, John Phillips (Angie) of Lexington, SC, Josh Denton (Chesnut) of Camden, Mose Denton (Ashley) of Camden, Stephanie Epps (Jamey) of Midlothian, VA and Denise Carroll of Richmond, VA; and son-in-law, John Phillips, Sr.

Vergie was predeceased by her first husband, Roderick Franklin McLean; and her daughter, Catherine McLean Phillips.

Kornegay Funeral Home, Camden Chapel, is in charge of the arrangements.
