A funeral service celebrating the life of Virginia Ruth Brush “Ginny” Stogner, 97, of Camden will be held at Lakeview Baptist Church in Camden at 2 p.m. Thursday, February 8, 2018.  Rev. James Goudelock and Ikey Pitts will officiate. The family will received friends at the church at 1 p.m., one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in the Quaker Cemetery. Memorials may be made in Virginia’s memory to the Gideon International, P.O. Box 1333, Camden, SC  29201 or to Lakeview Baptist Church, 1520 Mill Street, Camden, SC 29020.

Virginia Ruth Brush Stogner, widow of Dempsey G. “Jack” Stogner, died Saturday, February 3, 2018. She was born in Oneonta, NY, the daughter of the late Clarence A. Brush and Cecile Brainard Brush.  

Mrs. Stogner was a WWII veteran having served in the Army Air Force Nurse Corps. She was a former nursing instructor and program director of the LPN program at Kershaw County Vocational Center and a charter member of Lakeview Baptist Church. She and Jack spent 25 years of their retirement traveling, enjoying nature and hiking while visiting the State National Parks.  

Ginny is survived by her daughter, Carol Lynn Stogner Davies (Robert A.) of Hillsville, VA; son, Michael J. Stogner of Easley; 5 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.   

Besides her husband and parents, Ginny was predeceased by her son and daughter-in-law, Donald R. Stogner (Pamela P.) and daughter-in-law, Judith D. Stogner.
