Funeral services for William Burnett Collins, 74, of Lugoff, SC will be held on Friday, June 14, 2013 at 4:00 PM at Lugoff First Baptist Church, with interment to follow in the church cemetery. Dr. Albert Allen and Rev. Dave Robinson will officiate. The family will receive friends Thursday, June 13, 2013 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Kornegay Funeral Home, Lugoff-Elgin Chapel.
William, son of the late Frances Davis Collins and Chester Collins, was born in Blaney, SC. He was retired from Hardwicke Chemical Company. Mr. Collins was an avid gardener, and loved spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He was a generous man, always willing to lend a helping hand to his friends and neighbors.
Mr. Collins is survived by his wife, Norma Nelson Collins; daughter Diane McCaskill (Mike) and son, Steve Collins (Brenda) all of Lugoff; grandchildren, Melissa Hanna (Clay), Stephanie Collins (Lance), Ashley Branham (Jonathan), Philip Hawkins, all of Lugoff, and Jonathan Hawkins (Shannon) of Goldsboro, NC; great-grandchildren, Hunter Mathis, Trent Mathis, Cayden Branham, and Brody Hanna. He is also survived by brother, Larry Collins and half-brother, Ray Barrett, both of Elgin. William was predeceased by his parents, Chester and Frances Collins, and brothers, Curtis Collins and Ben Collins.
