A graveside service to celebrate the life of William “Doodie” Porter Tiller Sr. will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, August 18, 2018, at Quaker Cemetery. Rev. John Hallman will officiate. Memorials may be made to the Thiel-Myer Pet Adoption Center, 128 Black River Road, Camden, SC 29020 or to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, P.O. Box 4527, New York, NY 10163.

Doodie died Monday, August 13, 2018. Born in Sumter, SC, he was the son of the late Haskell Cauthen Tiller and Willie Porter Cox. He was a former member of the Camden Country Club and the Crazy Quail Club, and a former charter member of the Palmetto Retriever Club and SC Sporting Clays Association.

He is survived by his son, William Porter Tiller Jr. (Lisa) of Charlotte; his brother, Richard “Dickie” Tiller (Kay), of Camden; grandchildren Porter MacKenzie “Mack” Tiller and Josephine “Josie” Esther Tiller; nieces, Ellen Kranitz (Mike) and Lyn Flowers (Billy) of Apex, N.C.; nephew, Ricky Tiller (Kathleen) of Camden; and stepbrother, Jimmy Cox of Plantation, Fla.

The Tiller family would like to thank Kershaw Home Health Hospice and Blue Ridge in the Fields for all their care and support.
