Willie James (WJ) Stevens, age 67 went home to be with his Lord & Savior on July 28. Funeral services were held Sunday at the Cassatt Baptist Church. Rev. Dean Elliott and Rev. Cecil Stevens officiated. Burial was in the Cassatt Baptist Church Cemetery directed by Norton Funeral Home, Bishopville. Visitation was Saturday at the funeral home. 

Mr. Stevens was born in Bishopville a son of the late Willie E. & Geneva Boykin Stevens. He was retired from DuPont after 35 years of service, was a member of the Cassatt Baptist Church and the men’s Sunday School Class. He loved his family, but most of all he love his God. 

Surviving are his wife, Barbara Teal Stevens, Cassatt;  three sons, Denny (Brandy) Stevens, Sumter, Derek (Angie) Stevens, Cassatt and Matthew (Barbara) Stevens, Cassatt; nine grandchildren; three brothers, Rev. Cecil (June) Stevens, Bishopville, Carlton (Aline Goodale) Stevens, Bishopville and Jackie (Mary) Stevens, Bishopville; one sister, Mildred Beebe, Cassatt. Memorials may be made to the Cassatt Baptist Church, P.O. Box 110, Cassatt, S.C.  29032. Norton Funeral Home is honored to serve the Stevens family.
