Funeral services to celebrate the life of Willie Lee Higgins Beckham, 92, of Camden, SC, will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, June 14, 2014 at Lyttleton Street United Methodist Church in Camden. Rev. Steve Patterson will officiate. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00–8:00 PM, Friday, June 13, 2014 at Kornegay Funeral Home, Camden Chapel. Memorials may be made in Willie’s memory to Kershaw Home Health Hospice, 124 Battleship Road, Camden, SC 29020.

Willie Lee Higgins Beckham, widow of William P. Beckham, Jr., died Thursday, June 12, 2014. She was the daughter of the late Iva Lee Hammond Higgins and Henry S. Higgins. She was a school teacher at Camden Primary, Pine Tree Hill, Barron DeKalb, Mt. Zion, Monticello and McBee. Willie was chairman of the Kershaw County Election Commission, a member of the SC School Accreditation Committee and a volunteer at KershawHealth for 30 years.

Willie is survived by her sons, Buster Beckham (Kathy) of Camden and Henry Beckham (Bunny) of Myrtle Beach, SC; grandchildren, Hank Beckham (Cory), Mary Kate West (Maury), Marlee Marsh (Graham) Carl Beckham, Griff Beckham (Gretchen), and Virginia Beckham; great-grandchildren, Reese and Patrick West, Reeves Beckham and Mac and Levi Marsh.

Besides her husband and parents, Willie was predeceased by her brother and sisters, Henry Smith Higgins, David Higgins, Billy Higgins, Jane Wright, and Freddie Higgins.
