Swift Creek Church was constructed in 1827 and maintains the same simplistic style and structure today that it had when built. It will house a gospel singing Saturday beginning at 5 p.m. to benefit local church choirs. All community members are encouraged to attend.
Swift Creek Church in Boykin will be filled with music and fellowship on Saturday beginning at 5 p.m. The gospel-style singing will feature various local choirs and all proceeds will also be donated to local choirs. According to Alice Boykin who has been a member of the Boykin family and Boykin community since 1960, Swift Creek Church was an active church until the 1930s, but now is used for weddings and community events, like the upcoming gospel singing. "The building was built in 1827," Boykin said.
