On Tuesday, the Lee County Historical Society will conduct its annual business meeting at 7 p.m. at the S.C. Cotton Museum.
Though based in Lee County, Kershaw County members are welcomed and encouraged to attend.
The focus of this very important meeting will be for the officers and members to discuss the organization’s operations and to make plans for the remainder of the year.
Two extremely important issues will be covered at this meeting and it is very important that all members attend. The most important discussion will focus on changes to the organization’s constitution introduced at its meeting in April. Members will vote on these changes.
The most immediate issue, however, is for the Society to discuss and plan for its supporting role with the Bishopville Garden Club to sponsor the Garden Tour scheduled for May 31.
This is an exciting event and many guests and visitors are expected to come to Bishopville and tour the beautiful gardens.
The Historical Society will provide refreshments at the James House for the visiting participants. In addition to refreshments, maps and directions, as well as tickets for those who have not already purchased them, will be available at the James House.
Business meetings can be dry at times but special efforts will be made by the officers of the Historical Society to make this meeting fun. Would you believe bearable? Please be reminded that for our members, this is a very important meeting.
