The Hobkirk Hill Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution is presenting a Scholarship Luncheon at noon on Feb. 13 at the Springdale Hall Club, 161 Knight’s Hill Road, in Camden. The public is invited to attend.
Speaker, Mackenzie Anderson Sholtz, will present a program on Colonial period costumes. With both theatrical costuming and contemporary garment industry backgrounds, she is now focusing on 18th and 19th century pattern drafting techniques and hand sewing skills. From this area of concentration she created a commercial pattern line called Fig Leaf Patterns which reproduces garments found in museum and private collections. Her online store is called Patterns Only, Period. Her website is www.figleaf patterns.com. She is excited to lecture on 18th century dressing.
