On Feb. 23, the Humanities Council of South Carolina, in conjunction with the Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church, Lugoff sponsored a Black History Program featuring Sharon "The Gullah Lady" Cooper-Murray presented on Gullah culture as the guest presenter. Focusing on the program’s theme "Embracing Our Heritage," Cooper-Murray was able to elaborate on the rich legacy of South Carolinians by exemplifying her knowledge of the Gullah culture through storytelling.
