Brevard Music Competition

The Camden Music Association of Kershaw County in conjunction with the Fine Arts Center of Kershaw County (FAC) announces the Brevard Music Competition on Saturday, Feb. 2 at the FAC auditorium.

The competition is open to any musician, instrumental and/or vocal, grades 6th to 12th.

Three scholarships are available --

The Senior/Fran Shealy Scholarship is for grades 9th to 12th. The winner receives $400 for music study .

The Junior Scholarship is for grades 6,7 and 8. The winner receives $100 for music study.

For the Brevard Scholarship, the winner must audition for the Brevard Music Camp Program, held June 21 through Aug. 4. The winner receives a full Scholarship to Brevard a $4000 value.

In the event the student is not accepted, the student will be awarded $400 to be used for music study. Pianists and vocalists may attend for either threeor six weeks.

All competitors are required to reside in Kershaw County or have studied with a teacher who resides in Kershaw County. All participants must perform in a public recital in Wood Auditorium at 4pm on the day of the comperirion. A $5.00 non-refundable entry fee must accompany the application. Completed application forms with accompanying fee must be received by the Fine Arts Center, P.O. Box 1498, Camden, SC 29021 no later than January 25, 2013.
