3rd place Margaret Bass WEBPP
One of the 2014 Fall Show winners, by Margaret Bass.

Camden ART will open its juried Fall Show in the Bassett Gallery at the Fine Arts Center of Kershaw County Friday with a reception from 5:30 to 7 p.m. The exhibition will be on display in the Bassett Gallery through Jan. 8.

The juried exhibition will include works of art in a variety of styles and media including watercolor, oil, acrylic, charcoal, pen and ink, and mixed media. Select works will be available for purchase just in time for the holidays. The Camden ART Fall Show will be judged by gallery owner and artist Jenny Eggleston. Participants will include Derek Napper, Carl Craighead, M. Beth Woodall, Linda Kincaid, J. Michael McGuirt, Catherine Coulter Lloyd, Tari Federer, Jane Weaver, Walker P. Canada, Sam Compton, Dot Goodwin, Fletcher Bass, Margaret ES Bass, Norma Young and Alice Brooks.

Jenny Eggleston is a Raleigh, N.C.-based artist, poet and art teacher. Classically trained as a nature illustrator, she uses images found in nature to create surrealistic figurative mindscapes. Eggleston interweaves art with poetry, moving from one creative expression to another to help the viewer both see and feel her intent. Her work has been seen in various galleries around the Carolinas and Virginia.

"Camden ART’s Fall Show is always an interesting and varied exhibition that showcases the talented artists who make their home in the Camden area," FAC Director of Marketing Jane Peterson said. "Having the show just before the holidays allows our visitors to see, appreciate and perhaps purchase some of the great pieces on exhibit."

People’s Choice, first, second and third place winners will be featured in the Spring Show scheduled for May in the Bassett Gallery.
