The winning pieces of the Camden ART Fall Show were recently announced during the Opening Reception in the Bassett Gallery on the campus of the Fine Arts Center of Kershaw County.
The Fall Show was judged by retired University of South Carolina art professor Truman Treed. Three winners, along with two honorable mentions and the People’s Choice winners were named.
Margaret Bass, 1st Place for "The Nest" (gourd art)
Fletcher Bass, 2nd Place for "Stranded" (photography)
Dot Goodwin, 3rd Place for "Athena’s Helmet" (multi-media)
Honorable Mentions: Karen White for "Enclosed" (clay) and Pamela Faber-Greaves for "Forever Twain" (oil on canvas.)
People’s Choice: Pearl Nester for "Bad Santa" (quilt.)
All of the winning pieces along with other works of art by Camden ART members will be on display in the Bassett Gallery through Jan. 18.
Camden ART is a group of local artists, both professional and amateur, who meet the first Monday of each month at the FAC and present two annual exhibits in the Fine Arts Center’s Bassett Gallery.
Camden ART welcomes anyone interested in visual arts to join this affiliate club.
Membership will provide opportunities for artists to showcase their work, to hear from speakers and demonstrators who can share their expertise, and meet other artists in the community.

The Fine Arts Center of Kershaw County is located at 810 Lyttleton St., Camden.
Gallery hours are Monday through Wednesday and Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Thursday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
