The Camden/Kershaw County Branch NAACP will celebrate the 28th Annual Freedom Fund Banquet on Saturday at Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church Family Life Center, 19 Ward Road in Lugoff, at 6 p.m. The keynote speaker for this event will be Rev. Dr Daniel T. Hembree, pastor of East Camden Charge of the United Methodist Church (Emmanuel and St Matthew United Methodist Churches). A native of Detroit, Michigan, Hembree attended Morehouse College and later the University of Michigan where he earned his Bachelor’s degree in Physical Anthropology. He continued his education at Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary where he earned the Master of Divinity degree and thereafter, he attended Northwestern University where he earned a Ph.D. in Religion in Society and Personality.
