The Hobkirk Hill Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) held its annual scholarship recognition meeting May 9 at Historic Camden Revolutionary War Site’s Kershaw-Cornwallis House. The meeting was held to recognize and congratulate students in the county for their academic achievements, their efforts in promoting the ideals of dependability, service, leadership, patriotism and citizenship. Mary Catherine Miller, chairman of the DAR scholarship program, presented the scholarship awards to Morgaine Justice Hatcher of the Tamassee DAR School, Mary Allison Hill of Camden High School (CHS), Joshua Peed of Camden Military Academy (CMA) and Danielle Nicole Walker of Lugoff-Elgin High School (L-EHS).
