First responders parade for dispatchers
Parade for Dispatchers - Lead
First responders from the Kershaw County Sheriff’s Office, Camden Police Department and EMS pass by the Kershaw County Department of Safety and Emergency Services Entrance at the county’s government center on Friday morning as part of a short parade to honor emergency dispatchers working inside. Friday marked the end of National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week. The parade served as a cap to that observance as well as a big thank you to dispatchers for their work during the COVID-19 novel coronavirus pandemic. (Martin L. Cahn/C-I)
A little after 11 a.m. Friday, a long line of first responders circled the Kershaw County Government Center in their patrol cars, ambulances and other emergency vehicles as a way to honor emergency dispatchers working inside. The parade was put together as part of National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week.
