Recently, the Mt. Pisgah Elementary School Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO) gave the school and community a gift of literacy. A new little lending library was installed for students, parents and community members to share children’s literature. Principal Britt Gardner said, “This is a great addition to our school and community. It shows our entire community that we value literacy in and out of school.” In the top picture, students from several grades take pride in filling the little lending library up for the first time. In the bottom picture, students and PTO members showing off the new little library are (front row, from left) Brantley Pate, 1st Grade; Makenzy Rose, Kindergarten; Keshawn Smith, Kindergarten, Tucker Rodgers, 4th Grade, Katherine Moya-Gonzalez, 3rd grade; (back row) PTO President Megan Rodgers; Kamryn Etters, 5th Grade; Reading Coach Robin Sowell and Librarian Martha Mason.
