Happy 70th Anniversary!
Ogburn anniversary

Mr. and Mrs. William R. Ogburn (Bill and Dorothy) celebrated their 70th anniversary on November 23, 2010. They are the proud parents of Beverly (Elliott) Sheorn and William Ogburn, Jr., three grandsons Rob (Kim) Sheorn, Mark (Monica) Sheorn and Hudson Ogburn and four great grand children, Bradley, Chance, Wesley and McCall Sheorn.

Bill, a decorated WWII Veteran, retired from the US Postal Service and Dorothy has been a loving mother, encourager and homemaker.

Bill and Dorothy have been active members of Rowan ARP Church in Lugoff for more than 60 years. Bill served as a deacon and was named Elder Emeritus honoring his long service as an Elder and Dorothy was honored as a Life Member of the Women of the Church for her service. They were named “Partners in Ministry” for their service to the church.

They danced with the Camden High Steppers for over 40 years and enjoyed traveling with the square dancer and with special friends Bergen and Chubby Wilson, Tex and Ethel Simmons, Charles and Margie Ewert and Charles and Ruth Ketchen. The five couples called themselves “The Traveling Ten” and as a group explored much of the United States.

Their life together has been richly blessed. The family will celebrate this special anniversary on Thanksgiving Day.
