On Oct. 25, members of the John D. Kennedy Chapter of the United Daughters of the Confederacy (UDC) and Joseph Kershaw Confederate Veterans, as well as other friends and family members of UDC member Mary Elizabeth Pitts Hough, gathered at the Jeter Family Cemetery in Carlisle for the unveiling of her Daughter of the Confederacy grave marker. Hough was made an honorary member because of her service as histographer for more than 30 years. John D. Kennedy Chapter President Susan Baskins and Chaplain Gayle Breon conducted the ceremony.
