Liberty Hill will be the interesting and appropriate setting of the Kershaw County Historical Society program to be presented Sunday, May 24, at 3 p.m. in the fellowship hall at Liberty Hill Presbyterian Church. The program, open to the public, will explore the topic of Gen. William T. Sherman’s invasion of Kershaw District in 1865, following the burnings of Atlanta and Columbia. As a result of the invasion 150 years ago, Kershaw District civilians were drawn into Sherman’s "total warfare" concept.
