The competitive dance program at the Fine Arts Center of Kershaw County (FAC), operated by Alexis Kelley McDonald of Kelley’s Fine Arts (KFA,) and also known as the KFA Camden Crew, just returned from their last regional competition of the season. It has been a very successful season for the dance team. The competitive team traveled to three different competitions this spring bringing home numerous awards. They competed at Applause Talent in Lexington, Beyond the Stars in Supply, NC and Dance Troupe Incorporated’s Challenge of Excellence in Savannah. Some of their top honors from these events include The Costume Award, The Entertainment Award, a Fabulous Facials recognition, The Professionalism Award, The Atmosfierce Award, and The Champion of Excellence.
At Beyond the Stars, they took first place in 11 divisions. From Dance Troupe Inc., they received eight High Gold Excels, 12 Judges Choice Awards and one Judges Choice Elite qualifying all of their routines for the Grand National Finals in July. The team had six members named Premier Dance Performers: Cailin Cokley, Grace Smith, Martha Jones, Rembert Pritchard, Raymie Powell, and Taylin Misenheimer. They also had three of their members named Youth Dance Ambassadors: Molly Creel, Morgan Schoolfield, and Meredith Creel.
