The Kershaw County Music Association (KCMA) will hold its spring concert on Sunday, May 8 at 3 p.m. in the Wood Auditorium of the Fine Arts Center of Kershaw County (FAC.) An affiliate member of the FAC, the KCMA’s spring concert will feature the members of KCMA along with several special guests from the community. Admission is free and the public is encouraged to attend.
Appearing with KCMA members will be Bo and Ari Dickinson; Scott Jordan; Patty Tolbert; the Chamber Choir of Kershaw County (CCKC;) We Three (Julia Halford, Phyllis David and Linda Higgins;) Barbara James; Kirkland Moranos (flutist and winner of the KCMA Music Scholarship;) as well as several violin students of Patty Tolbert. A special tribute will be made to all mothers in honor of Mother’s Day.
The KCMA, an affiliate and one of the founding organizations of the FAC, was formed to encourage, support and promote young musicians and to foster knowledge and appreciation of quality music in Kershaw County. In addition to the Fall Choral Showcase and the Spring Instrumental Showcase, the KCMA provides other opportunities for students and adults to perform; coordinates the annual KMA Music Scholarship competition and recital; assists with the FAC’s School Arts Performance Series, the FAC Chamber Music concerts and the Chamber Choir of Kershaw County (CCKC) concerts.
