Camden High School’s 60th Miss Gold and Black pageant was held this past weekend at Camden High School.
The pageants were held Friday and Saturday evenings.
Friday evening, 12 freshmen and sophomores competed for the title of Junior Miss Gold and Black.
Saturday evening, 28 juniors and seniors competed for the title of Miss Gold and Black.
The theme of the pageant, "I Hope You Dance," was incorporated throughout the evening as contestants opened to "Dancing in the Street."
Christina Boss, a 2004 graduate of Camden High School and Camden native, served as emcee.
Boss also provided entertainment during the intermission singing "How Could I Ask for More."
During the competition, contestants modeled casual wear and formal wear.
The 2013 Junior Miss Gold and Black court includes Taylor Freeman who received the title of Miss Gold and Black, Miss Photogenic, Best Interview and received the highest score for evening gown; Larkin Kelly, 1st runner up for Miss Freshman; Maddison Flowers, Miss Congeniality; Morgan Schoolfield, Miss Freshman; Mackenzie Higgins, 1st runner up for Miss Sophomore and Becca Elliott, Miss Sophomore.
The 2013 Miss Gold and Black court includes Haley Maree, Miss Gold and Black; Nierra Coleman, Miss Senior and Best Interview; Brooke Maxwell, 1st runner up for Miss Senior; Sydney Morris, Miss Junior; Helen Koutroulakis, 1st runner up for Miss Junior; Jazzmin Devlin, Most Photogenic and Nancy Fanous, Miss Congeniality.
Mr. Camden Bulldog 2013, voted as the Fan Favorite escort, was Trey Buckelew.
