Sen. Vincent Sheheen has written and self-published the book as a policy guide for how to improve South Carolina.
"If America has a soul, it’s here in South Carolina," said Sheheen.
According to Sheheen, "This book is about South Carolina -- a South Carolina we know can exist if we join together in a common vision with leaders who actually care about our state. We are better than what our government has looked like in recent history. We have been better before. We deserve better now. It is up to us to engage and change. We must do it again … the right way."
Sheheen was born and raised in Camden. Prior to being elected to the South Carolina Senate in 2004, he served in the South Carolina House of Representatives and as a city prosecutor.
Sheheen and his wife, Amy, live in Camden with their three sons, Austin, Joseph, and Anthony.
