True to his promise
Clifton Anderson students
Keeping true to a promise he made to a group of fifth-graders at Bethune Elementary School in 2005, Clifton Harryton Anderson (far right), a retired mental health professional, volunteer mentor and the recipient of the Order of Silver Crescent, the state’s highest honor for volunteer and community service, has made unannounced regular visits with the students each year since 2005. In the beginning, he spoke with the students about peer pressure, bullying, anger, self-esteem, attitude, making health decisions and adapting to new life-situations during their educational journey. On May 5th, he visited the students, who are in the 11th grade at North Central High School and looking forward to graduating from North Central High School in 2012.
