The United Way of Kershaw County Board of Directors announces the availability of $20,000 to address the identified focus areas of Education, Financial Stability, Health and Hunger, and Homelessness. The funds are available through a competitive application process to any non-profit organization serving the community.

Any organization applying must be providing a current service in Kershaw county and requests should be for no more than $5,000.

Currently funded partner agencies must apply but the application must be to expand or to provide a new service. Other non-profit organizations that apply will have to provide the qualifying information that is listed in the application.

The overall focus of the United Way of Kershaw County in the coming years is on breaking the cycle of poverty, so particular focus should be placed on this segment of the community in the application. The first and possibly only round of applications will be reviewed by the board of directors at the March board meeting.

Applications are due by Wednesday, March 20 at noon at 110 E. DeKalb, St., Camden. An original and 10 copies of the application and all attachments is required. A cover letter must be provided on agency letterhead and must be signed by the board chair. Please do not provide any additional information in the application and be as brief, organized and direct as possible.
