The United Way of Kershaw County (UWKC) will host a county-wide "Day of Caring" on Wednesday. The purpose of this event is to unite volunteers throughout the county to work at various projects like reading to children, leading financial literacy classes for hard-working families or delivering meals to homebound seniors to positively impact the community.
The UWKC’s goal for the "Day of Caring" is to connect individuals and/or groups, both are welcomed and encouraged to participate, with a service project suited to their skills, interests and passions.
"We are looking for individual or group volunteers. Sororities and farternites and any groups are encouraged" said Pam Spivey of the UWKC.
"We will partner you with a site that needs volunteers and that also suits your interests," Spivey said.
The UWKC works toward strengthening the community through volunteer services.
