February 9th, Charlotte Rhett Brennan and Thomas Cloud Anderson Jr., both of Columbia, were wed in Columbia, South Carolina at Trinity Episcopal Cathedral.
The parents of the bride are Dr. and Mrs. James Robert Brennan of Columbia, S.C. Grandparents of the bride are the Rev. Canon John Coming Ball and the late Helen Ingle Ball of Charleston S.C. and Mr. Thomas Aloysius Brennan and the late Carolyn Seawright Brennan of Savannah Ga.
The bride is a graduate of A.C. Flora High School and the University of Georgia. She received her Doctorate of Pharmacy from the South Carolina College of Pharmacy at MUSC and is currently employed as a pharmacist by CVS.
Parents of the groom are Dr. and Mrs. Thomas Cloud Anderson of Camden, S.C. Grandparents of the bridegroom are Mr. Leonard Eugene Hughey and the late Jean Morgan Hughey of Gaffney S.C. and the late Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Cloud Anderson Jr. of Gaffney S.C.
The groom is a graduate of Camden High School and Wofford College. He received his Masters degree of Accountancy from the University of South Carolina. He is the Controller for First Palmetto Bank.
The groom’s parents, Dr. and Mrs. Thomas Cloud Anderson hosted a rehearsal dinner on the eve of the wedding at the Palmetto Club in Columbia, S.C.
The double-ring ceremony occurred at 7 p.m. and was officiated by the Reverend Canon Charles Davis Jr. The bride was given in marriage by her father Dr. James Robert Brennan.
Musicians for the wedding were organist Jared Johnson and bagpipe player Cameron Kloot. The lector was Lee Reuf.
The bride wore a fitted, silk mikado ivory dress with a square neckline and trumpet skirt. The bride also wore a antique family veil.
The bride’s bouquet was a loose cascade of gardenias, stephanotis, ivy, white roses and seeded eucalyptus wrapped in raw silk and vintage lace from her maternal grandmother’s wedding gown.
Miss Isabel Lawson Wise and Master James Anderson Wise, of Summit, N.J., niece and nephew of the groom, served as the young attendants. Isabel wore a small ring of babybreath’s in her hair.
The maid of honor was the sister of the bride, Miss Helen Jervey Brennan of Columbia, S.C. Bridesmaids were Miss Mason McNulty Hubbard of Washington, D.C.; Mrs. Elizabeth McCoy McKinney of Charlottesville, Va.; Miss Margaret Ellen Pendarvis of New York, N.Y.; Mrs. Mary Clark Hamblin Prevost of Charleston, S.C.; Miss Harriett Keller Vogelsang, cousin of the bride, of Buffalo, N.Y.; and Mrs. Amy Anderson Wise, sister of the groom of Summit, N.J.
The women of the bridal party wore slate colored silk crinkle chiffon dresses in a variety of styles, all in long length. The maid of honor and bridesmaids carried lush, hand tied bouquets of mini green hydrangeas, white stock and green and white weber tulips.
The bestman was Dr. Thomas Cloud Anderson, father of the groom.
Groomsmen were Mr. James Seawright Brennan, brother of the bride of Union City, N.J.; Mr. George McAlpin Crouch, Jr. of Columbia, S.C.; Mr. William Bernard DuPree of Greenville, S.C.; Mr. Clyde Bennett Gore of Columbia, S.C.; Mr. William Reamer Johnson of Columbia, S.C.; Mr. Hamer Gibson Tucker of Camden, S.C. and Mr. John Drayton Wise, brother-in-law of the groom of Summit, N.J.
A reception for the couple was held at the Forest Lake Club.
The couple’s wedding trip will be to Napa Valley, California and the couple will reside in Columbia, S.C.
