Remond and Maude Cooper of Camden, S.C., celebrated, with family and friends, their 50th wedding anniversary on June 8 with a Reaffirmation of the Marriage Covenant at Camden First United Methodist Church followed by an anniversary reception at the Meeting Place Banquet and Conference Center in Columbia, S.C.
They were married June 7, 1969, in Hemingway, S.C. They both are retired educators from the Kershaw County School District. Maude taught Business Education and Computer Applications courses in Calhoun, Lexington District 4, and Bamberg 2 and retired after 34 years from Camden High School. Remond served as a teacher in Lexington School District 4, assistant principal and principal in Bamberg District 2 and retired after 36 years in education at the district level in Kershaw County.
They are active members of Camden First United Methodist Church where they both hold leadership positions.
Remond and Maude are the proud parents of three daughters: Dr. Vidette Cooper, MD, of Holly Springs, N.C.; Courtney Williams (David) of Columbia, S.C.; and Kerri Cooper of Chicago, Ill. They are also the very proud grandparents of three adorable grandchildren: Myles, Myron and Mikayla Williams of Columbia, S.C.
