Dr. Clarke, Mr. Crowder plan October wedding

Mr. and Mrs. Michael T. Clarke of Mountain Rest announce the engagement of their daughter, Dr. Rebecca Kay Clarke of Camden, to Russell Alexander Crowder of Hodges. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Doug Crowder of Hodges.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Colonel and Mrs. Maurice H. Clarke of Camden and the late Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Nutting of Camden. She graduated from Clemson University in 2005 with a bachelor’s degree in Animal Science, and graduated from the University of Georgia with a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2010.  She recently completed a yearlong internship focusing on large animal medicine at Carolina Equine Hospital in Gibsonville, N.C.

The groom-elect is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Ted Crowder of Hodges and Mr. and Mrs. Stan Ward of Simpsonville and the late Mr. Ray Pesaturo of Lincolnton, N.C. He graduated from Clemson University in 2007 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and is currently employed by ASCO in Aiken.

The wedding is planned for Oct. 1, 2011 at Grace Episcopal Church in Camden.
