Frances Arant Miller of Camden and Robert Morrow Goodwin of Hartsville were married at Bethesda Presbyterian Church on July 27, 2013, at 2 p.m. Reverend John Hallman was the officiating clergyman in the traditional double-ring ceremony.
Frances is the daughter of Mrs. Carolyn A. Miller of Winnsboro and the late Dr. James W. Miller. She holds a B.S. in Elementary Education from Erskine College and a Masters of Education from the University of South Carolina. She is employed with Kershaw County Schools.
Robert is the son of Mrs. Marlene Goodwin of Ocean Pines, Maryland, and the late Clark Goodwin. He holds a B.S. in Physical Education from Edinboro University and a Masters of Education from Phoenix University. He is employed as a teacher and coach with Sumter County Schools. Robert is currently on active duty with the 751st Combat Support Sustainment Battalion. He is also a retired United States Marine.
Music for the wedding was provided by Mr. Bo Dickinson, organist, and Mrs. Ari Dickinson, vocalist. Musical selections were "The Lord’s Prayer," "Trumpet Voluntary," and "Cannon in D."
The windows of the church were decorated with magnolia and white candles in hurricane globes. Floral arrangements were yellow roses and purple hydrangeas.
Frances was given in marriage by her brother, Mr. Vince Miller of Little Rock, Arkansas. Her matrons of honor were Mrs. Donna Davis of Winnsboro and Mrs. Dawn Lewis of Covington, Virginia. Her junior bridesmaids were the daughters of the groom, Mickayla Goodwin and Sydnei Goodwin of Monroeville, Pennsylvania.
The best man was Mr. Andy Goodwin of Rochester, Michigan. The groomsmen were Mr. Kirk Davis and Mr. Andy Davis, nephews of the bride, and Mr. Joshua Goodwin, son of the groom.
After a horse drawn carriage ride, the bride and groom received guests at the Robert Mills Courthouse.
