Danielle Lashell Greene of Camden, and Anwar Markeith Jones of Cassatt, were married Saturday, October 15, 2011, at the Mitchell House & Gardens in Lexington, South Carolina. The seven o’clock ceremony was officiated by Reverend John Lee followed by a reception.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. Gregory Greene and Ms. Blanche Greene of Camden. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Mary Drakeford and the late Bennie Drakeford of Camden and Mr. and Mrs. John Greene also of Camden. She is also the great granddaughter of Mrs. Blanche Salmond of Camden. She is a 2001 graduate of North Central High School and is currently serving as a Technical Sergeant in the United States Air Force.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Keith and Willie Mae Carney of Cassatt and Mr. James Slater Jr. of Rembert South Carolina. He is the grandson of Mrs. Rosa Clark and the late Mr. John Clark of Cassatt and Mrs. Mary Ann Carney and the late Mr. Joseph Carney of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He is a 2001 graduate of North Central High School and is currently serving as a Warrant Officer in the United States Army.
The bride was escorted by her brothers Marcus Greene and Terrence Drakeford of Camden and presented in marriage by her father. She wore an ivory strapless a-line gown with detailing on the bodice and waistline with a touch of buttons on the back to complete the look.
The matron of honor was Mrs. Lakisha Miller of Lancaster, South Carolina. The maid of honor was Ms. Raquel Baldwin of Raleigh, North Carolina. The bridesmaid was Ms. Carrie Staugler of Arlington, Virginia. The junior bridesmaid was Ms. Anita Bache. Ms. Destiny Drakeford served as the flower girl.
The best man was Mr. Troy Lee of Charlotte, North Carolina. The groomsmen were Mr. Jonathan Jones of Pensacola , Florida, Mr. Keith Carney Jr. of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and Mr. James Stubbs of Fayetteville, North Carolina.
Following a cross country honeymoon, the couple will reside in Tacoma, Washington.
