Miss Lindsay, Mr. Finley exchange vows

Miss Mary Catherine Lindsay and Mr. Jason Nicholas Finley were united in marriage on Saturday, July 16, 2011 at the Historic St. Luke’s Chapel in Charleston, South Carolina. The six o’clock ceremony was officiated by the Reverend Joel Robert Jones of Irmo, South Carolina.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Cliff Crosland (Jay) Lindsay Jr. of Columbia. She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. C.W.F. Spencer Jr. of Rock Hill and the late Mr. and Mrs. Cliff Crosland Lindsay of Columbia. A graduate of the University of South Carolina, she received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and is currently employed by the Medical University of South Carolina as a registered nurse.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Thurman Langston (Lanny) Finley, III of Camden. He is the grandson of Mrs. Emily Stevenson Vereen and the late Mr. Edward William Vereen of Camden and Mr. Thurman Langston Finley Jr. and the late Mrs. Ora Brown Finley of Laurens, S.C. A graduate of Clemson University, he received a Bachelor of Science in Marketing and is currently employed by the Ben Arnold Beverage Company.

A program of nuptial music was rendered by Dr. Julia Harlow, organist; Ms. Ester Senst, violinist; and Martha Ann Wilson, soloist.

The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her family. She wore a lovely silk Duponi strapless gown featuring a fit-to-flare silhouette designed by Martina Liana. The bodice featured asymmetrical ruching. The hemline was accented by crystals that followed around the chapel length train. A crystal embellished belt accented her waistline.

Mrs. Neely Grant Quigley was Matron of Honor. Bridesmaids were Mrs. Sarah Morgan Berryman, Mrs. Alyssa Aikman Good, Mrs. Emily Whitlock Lindsay, Miss Brantley Ruth Parton, Mrs. Natalie Good Sumner and Miss Alexandria Taylor. Miss Ansley Virginia Culp served as flower girl.

Mr. Lanny Finley served as his son’s best man. Groomsmen were Mr. Michael Gary Culp Jr., Mr. Terence Edmundson DuBose, Mr. Shawn Hardwick Elliott, Mr. Justin Langston Finley, Mr. George Van Metre Kornegay and Mr. Spencer Crosland Lindsay. Master Carter Samuel DuBose served as ring bearer.

Program attendants and greeters were Miss Megan Patricia Harless and Miss Elizabeth Marshall Ward.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the Harbour Club in Charleston. Music was provided by the East Coast Party Band.

After a honeymoon trip to the Dominican Republic, the couple will reside in Mount Pleasant.

Following the rehearsal, a party was given by the groom’s family to honor the couple at Alhambra Hall in the Old Village in Mount Pleasant, S.C. Catering was provided by Charleston Bay Gourmet. The guests were entertained by the Dubious Duo of Charleston.
