Miss May, Mr. Everhart wed

Kelly Elizabeth May of Lugoff, and Christopher Dwain Everhart also of Lugoff, were married Saturday, October 22, 2011, in the Gardens at Canal and Senate. The four o’clock ceremony was officiated by Mr. Brian Marion. A reception followed at the Hall at Canal and Senate.

The bride is the daughter of Lt. Col. and Mrs. Daniel Kent May of Lugoff. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Sandra Blair West and the late Mr. Billy Wayne West of Union, South Carolina and Mrs. Mary Ruth Murphy May and the late Mr. Marion Francis May of Jonesville, South Carolina. She is the great granddaughter of Mr. William Jennings West of Jonesville, South Carolina. She is a  2007 graduate of Lugoff-Elgin High School and a 2011 graduate of the University of South Carolina. She graduated with a Bachelors of Science degree in exercise science.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Dwain Howard Everhart of Lugoff. He is the grandson of Mrs. Gwendolyn May Deere and the late Mr. Andrew Orie Deere of Waverly Ohio and Mr. and Mrs. Howard Calvin Everhart of Lugoff. He is the great grandson of Mrs. Hazel Marie Everhart of Chillicothe, Ohio. He is a 2003 graduate of Lugoff-Elgin High School. Chris is currently the manager of Branham Security Systems Inc.

The bride was escorted by her father and presented in marriage by her parents. She wore a lovely fitted, strapless a-line gown, featuring a sweetheart bodice with a Swarovski brooch detail. Rich lace appliques danced throughout the entire design as a sweep train completed the look.

The maid of honor was Miss Laci Annah McCafferty of Lugoff, South Carolina.

The bridesmaids were Mrs. Bradley Bowling Crout of Lexington, South Carolina, Miss Claire Marie O’Connor of Germantown, Tennessee, Miss Chelsea Lane Vanvolkenburgh of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, Miss Taylor Elizabeth Garrett of Union, South Carolina, Mrs. Ashley Marie Everhart of Elgin, and Miss Lindsey Amanda Whitaker of Lugoff. Miss Jenna Leigh Dinkins of Lugoff, South Carolina served as the flower girl.

The best man was Mr. Dwain Howard Everhart, father of the groom.

The groomsmen were Mr. Matthew Kent May of Lugoff, Mr. Luke David Cubbler of Camden, Mr. Eric Marvin Branham of Elgin, Mr. Steven James Phillips of Lugoff, Mr. Brian John Tolbert of Lugoff and Mr. Jeremy Evan Thompson of Elgin.
The guest book attendants were Miss Anna Grace Branham, Miss Ashley Olivia Branham, and Mrs. Kimberly Branham all of Elgin, South Carolina.

Following a honeymoon trip, the couple will reside in Elgin.
