Miss Moss, Mr. Christenberry exchange vows

Meredith Jackson Moss and Daniel William Christenberry, both of Columbia, were united in marriage June 18, 2011 at Trinity United Methodist Church in Sumter.  The Reverend Dr. John MacRaedie Barr performed the 6:00 p.m. ceremony. A reception followed at the Moss home in Sumter.

The bride is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Charles Eugene Moss of Sumter, and the granddaughter of Ms. Betty Baucum Jackson of Monroe, La, the late Dr. Jack Tom Jackson, and the late Dr. and Mrs. Walter Olin Moss.  She is a graduate of Clemson University with a Bachelor of Science degree in graphic communications and is a sales representative for Excelsior Benefits of Charlotte, NC.

The groom is the son of Dr. and Mrs. David Paul Christenberry of Camden. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. William Weatherford Killam of Camden and The Reverend and Mrs. Daniel Keener Christenberry of Bay Minette, Al. He is a graduate of the University of South Carolina with a Bachelor of Science degree in management.  He is a sales representative for Maxim Healthcare Services of Columbia.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a strapless gown with a sweetheart neckline fashioned with cascading tiers of candlelight silk organza. The waistline was accented with a champagne satin sash and finished with a bow at the base of covered buttons. Meredith was the 22nd bride in the Moss family to wear the cathedral length veil of Belgium lace. She carried a bouquet of double white peonies wrapped with her grandmother’s lace handkerchief fastened by her great-grandfather’s sapphire stickpin.

The Matron of honor was Mrs. Elizabeth DuRant Pusser of Charleston. The Maid of honor was Miss Kerry Lake Ellett of Greenville.  The bride’s attendants were Miss Sarah Lucille Christenberry, sister of the groom; Mrs. Katie Cosgrove White of Greensboro, NC; Mrs. Liza Senter Cleveland of Charleston; Mrs. Lindsay Reynolds Sartorio of Raleigh, NC; Miss Marjorie Harrison Trowbridge and Mrs. Joan Oliphant Boyer, both of Columbia; Mrs. Mary Pickens DuPree, and Mrs. Anna Callicoat Hodge, both of Greenville.

The groom’s father served as best man. Groomsmen were Mr. Andrew Charles Moss and Mr. Walter Miller Moss, brothers of the bride; Mr. Jason Adden Stegner of Vansant Virginia; Mr. Scott McKinley Arrington of Raleigh, NC; Mr. Matthew Kenneth Ryan of Charlotte, NC; Mr. Jesse Clark Rast III of Cameron; Mr. William Eugene Kalutz of Camden; Mr. Matthew Alan Nettles of Charleston; Mr. Charles Thomas Slaughter of Columbia. The ushers were John Corbett Boykin III and Siega Jerman Disasa, both of Columbia.

The greeters were Martha Ann Roddey McCarley of Georgetown; Anna Creech Montgomery of Winston Salem, NC; Caroline Shaw Motley of Sumter; Susanna Rice Crosson of Charleston; Claire McCall Stoneburner of Columbia; Elizabeth Engler Beman of Augusta, Ga. The greeters were Margaret Powers Strickland of Columbia; Michael Lewis Killam of Pensacola, Fl. The flower girl was Caroline McElveen and the ringer bearer was Davis Howell Beman junior.

A rehearsal party was given by the groom’s parents and their friends at the Boykin Grill in Rembert.  Following a honeymoon trip to Mexico, the couple will reside in Columbia.
