Meredith Royall Myers and Parkes Browning Coggins, both of Richmond, Virginia were united in marriage on Saturday, May 14, 2011 at Wachesaw Plantation in Murrells Inlet, South Carolina.  The six-thirty ceremony was officiated by Reverend Ernest Worman, campus chaplain of Newberry College in Newberry, South Carolina.  Ms. Sandra McLeod and Ms. Jennifer Schmale, violinists, provided the music for the ceremony; Mrs. Michelle Williams was the soloist.  A reception immediately followed at Wachesaw Plantation.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard C. Myers, Jr. of Alpharetta, Georgia and the granddaughter of Mrs. Betty O. Myers and the late Mr. Richard C. Myers; and Mrs. Merilyn C. Roll and the late Mr. Walter H. Roll, Jr.  Meredith is a graduate of Clemson University with a Bachelors degree in psychology.  She is employed by Virginia South Psychiatric and Family Services in Hopewell, Virginia.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. James P. Coggins of Newberry, South Carolina and the grandson of Mrs. Marcia P. Coggins and the late Mr. James F. Coggins; and the late Mr. and Mrs. Jesse C. Bedenbaugh.  Parkes is a graduate of Newberry College with a Bachelors degree in business administration and of the Medical University of South Carolina with a Masters of Health Administration. He is an assistant Chief Executive Officer at Southside Regional Medical Center in Petersburg, Virginia.

The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.  Her maid of honor was Miss Cara Sturgis, friend of the bride.  Bridesmaids were Mrs. Jessica Dahman, sister of the groom; Mrs. Pam Ozkaracaabatlioglu, Mrs. Leslie Walker, Miss Samantha Jacobson, Mrs. Rebecca Taylor, Miss Dipali Patel, Miss Lollie Kendall, Miss Brittany Kaufman and Miss Lindsey Johnson, friends of the bride. Honorary bridesmaids were Miss Caitlin Kennedy, Miss Courtney Kennedy, Miss Janie Daggett, Miss Kelsey Roll and Miss Kayla Roll, cousins of the bride.  Flower girl was Miss Catherine Moyd, daughter of friends of the bride and groom.

The groom’s father, Mr. James Coggins, served as best man.  Groomsmen were Mr. Andrew Myers, brother of the bride; Mr. Justin Dahman, brother-in-law of the groom; Mr. Jared Long, Mr. Harry Cromer, Mr. Jeremy Haltiwanger, Mr. Clark Bannister, Mr. Alan Edwards, Mr. Chris Dorman and Mr. Phil Wright, friends of the groom.  Ring bearer was Master Mathew Moyd, son of friends of the bride and groom.

After a honeymoon trip to Antiqua, the couple will reside in Richmond, Virginia.
