Miss OBriant, Mr. Mastantuno exchange vows

Blair Elizabeth O’Briant and Jackie Allen Mastantuno were married February 12, 2011 at The William Aiken House in Charleston, South Carolina. The ceremony was performed by the Doctor Charles Jerry Williams, Jr. and coordinated by An Extraordinary Event. A reception hosted by the bride’s father followed at The William Aiken House.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Forsyth Cobb Glenn, Junior, of Greensboro, North Carolina and Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Stewart O’Briant of Whitefish, Montana. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Horace Heafner of Stuarts Draft, Virginia and Joyce Niebell O’Briant of Greensboro, North Carolina and the late Paul William O’Briant, Junior. Blair is a graduate of Appalachian State University with a degree in English and Creative Writing and is employed by Createspace as a creative coordinator.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Mastantuno, Junior, of Camden, South Carolina and the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles Stewart Rector of North Charleston, South Carolina and the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Christopher Mastantuno, Senior, of Boston, Massachusetts. He graduated from the College of Charleston and obtained his J.D. from the University of South Carolina School of Law. He is in private practice in Charleston.

Serving as maid of honor was Elisabeth Ann Wasilewski of Orlando, Florida. Bridesmaids were Alexandra Elisabeth Glenn of Greensboro, North Carolina and Havilland Brooke O’Briant of Whitefish, Montana, sisters of the bride.

Best man was Karl Stewart Mastantuno, brother of the groom, of North Charleston, South Carolina. Groomsmen were Wenjin Wang of San Jose, California, Joerg Sven Marks of Lexington, South Carolina and Poya Moshtaghi Moghadam of Atlanta, Georgia.

Program attendants were Ashleigh Marie McFarlin and Jennifer Leigh Allen, both of Greensboro, North Carolina, cousins of the bride. The flower girl was Carson Elaine Mastantuno, niece of the groom, of North Charleston, South Carolina. Aiden Benjamin Jones, nephew of the groom, of North Charleston, South Carolina served as ring bearer.
After a honeymoon trip to Paris, Rome and Switzerland, the couple will reside in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina.


On the eve of the wedding, a tea at the Charleston Place Hotel was hosted by Elizabeth Marie Heafner, the bride’s grandmother.  A Low County Barbecue was hosted later that evening by Mr. and Mrs. Glenn and the groom’s parents at a private home on Isle of Palms, South Carolina. A post wedding brunch was given at a private residence on Isle of Palms, South Carolina by Mr. and Mrs. Carlin Clark of Fairfax Station, Virginia and Mr. and Mrs. James Horace Heafner, Junior, of Waynesboro, Virginia, aunts and uncles of the bride.
