Miss Poeta, Mr. Watson exchange vows
Miss Laura Marie Poeta ... Mr. Thornwell Eldon Watson III

Laura Marie Poeta and Thornwell Eldon Watson, III were united in marriage on September 4, 2010 at 6:00 p.m. in the evening at El-Bethel Faith Community Church in Lugoff. Pastor Joe Stines officiated the ceremony. A reception followed in the church family life center.

The bride was presented in marriage by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Roger Dale Poeta. The bride is the granddaughter of Mrs. Rachel Mills and the late Kenneth D. Mills, and Mr. and Mrs. Dominick Poeta all of Lugoff. A graduate of Lugoff=-Elgin High School, she earned an Associate’s Degree from Central Carolina and is employed by Kershaw Health Gastroenterology, Dr. T. Bright Williamson.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Thornwell Eldon Watson, Jr. and the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Anderson of Cassatt and Mrs. Rose Marie Watson and the late Thornwell Eldon Watson Sr. of Bishopville. A graduate of Lugoff-Elgin High School, he earned a bachelor of science degree from the University of South Carolina and is an information resource consultant employed by the University of South Carolina.

Mrs. Angela Riley Kelly, cousin of the bride was matron of honor. Miss Chelsea Lynn Watson, sister of the groom and Mrs. Andrea Ivey Curtis, cousin of the bride were bridesmaids. Miss Taylar Anderson and Miss Reese Anderson, cousins of the groom were flower girls.

The groom’s father served as best man. Mr. James Mathis Watson, brother of the groom and Mr. Charles Durant Poeta, brother of the bride served as groomsmen. Master Samuel Curtis and Master Henry Curtis, cousins of the bride, served as ring bearers.

After a honeymoon cruise of the Bahamas, the couple resides in Cayce, South Carolina.
