Miss Ashley Elizabeth Singleton of Camden and Patrick McClintock Sanders of Rembert were united in marriage October 2, 2010 at Church of the Ascension in Rembert. Reverend Robert Spencer officiated at the 5:30 p.m. ceremony. A 6:30 p.m. reception followed at Sans Souci Farm in Sumter.
The bride, daughter of Ms. Glenda Huckabee Singleton of Camden and Mr. David Albert Singleton of St. Stephens, is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Julius Huckabee of Westville and Mrs. Mary Singleton and the late Mr. Hal Singleton of Camden. She is a 4th grade teacher at Camden Elementary School for the Creative Arts.
The bridegroom, son of Mr. and Mrs. James Richardson Sanders of Rembert, is the grandson of the late Col. and Mrs. Homer Heller of Falls Church, Va. and the late Mr. and Mrs. Colclough Sanders of Sumter. He is a Project Manager at Dennis Construction.
Ms. Jane Luther Smith provided organ music for the ceremony. Musical selections included the theme from “Water Music” – Handel (seating of the grandmothers), “Ave Maria”- Schubert (seating of the mothers), “Canon in D”- Pachebel (bridesmaids-processional), “Trumpet Voluntary” – Clarke (bride processional), “Wedding March” – Mendelssohn (recessional), and “Prelude in Classic Style” – Young (postlude).
The church was adorned with blue, white, and green hydrangeas and the pew markers were made with white hydrangeas.
The bride, given in marriage by her father, Mr. David Albert Singleton, wore a strapless, a-line gown, with lace bodice, silk skirt, and satin ribbon around the waist with satin-covered buttons along the back of the dress. The veil was chapel length, trimmed in lace from her mother’s wedding dress, and was made by the bride. She carried a bouquet of blue hydrangeas.
The matrons of honor were Mrs. Kyleigh Shirley of Boykin; Mrs. Brennen Edwards of Sumter; and Mrs. Rebecca Almond of Camden. They wore tea length, satin, cornflower blue dresses by Bill Levkoff. The honor attendants carried white hydrangeas.
The bridesmaids were Mrs. Anndy Cosby of Versailles, Ky.; Mrs. Alana Powers of Lugoff; Miss LaKeisha Lawrence of Camden; and Mrs. Megan Campbell of Lawrenceville, Ga. The bridesmaids’ dresses and flowers matched the honor attendants.
The best man was Mr. James Richardson Sanders (father of groom).
The groomsmen were Mr. Alex Singleton of Camden; Mr. Zeke Lynam of Sumter; Mr. Hunter Long of Boykin; Mr. Tripp Jackson of Boykin; Mr. Emitt Freeman of Sumter; Mr. Billy Cosby of Versailles, Ky.; and Mr. Justin Wooten of Boykin.
Darlene Cantey, Alana Powers, and Jennifer Ellis hosted a Stock the Bar Shower. Kyleigh Shirley, Alana Powers, and LaKeisha Lawrence hosted an Everyday China Shower. A Monogram Shower was hosted by Megan Campbell.
A Lawn and Garden Shower was given by Bill and Aimee Lindler, Alan and Shannon Wooten, Tripp and April Jackson, Thomas and Dana Lindler, and Emitt and Susan Freeman. Cindi Singleton and Susan Gainey hosted a Miscellaneous Shower.
An Around the House Shower was given by Ginger and Hunter Long, Michelle and Justin Wooten, Rebecca and Walt Almond, Lucy Mahon and Angie Minter, Susan and Randy Thomas, Margaret and Jimmy Ray, Shannon and Chad Rabon, and Tae and Michael Laney.
A Lingerie Shower was given by Kyleigh Shirley.
