Springman and DuBose united in marriage

Miss Courtney Louise Springman of Atlanta, Georgia and Mr. Brooks Easter DuBose of Charleston, South Carolina were united in marriage on Saturday May 21, 2016 at half past five in the afternoon at the Waterside Chapel of Palmetto Bluff in Bluffton, South Carolina. The ceremony was officiated by Dr. Chuck Roberts, pastor at Peachtree Presbyterian Church in Atlanta, Georgia.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Jacob Springman of Atlanta.

The bridegroom is the son of Mrs. Charles Wills DuBose and the late Mr. Charles Wills DuBose of Camden, South Carolina.

The bride is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Gervase Springman of Altoona, Pennsylvania and the late Mr. and Mrs. James Gault Jr. of Bellwood, Pennsylvania. She graduated from the University of Virginia with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing and later received a Master of Science in Nursing degree from Emory University. The bride was employed with Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta for 12 years prior to marriage where she served as both a nurse and pediatric nurse practitioner caring for children with cancer and blood disorders.

The bridegroom is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles Perkins DuBose, Jr. of Camden, South Carolina and of the late Mr. and Mrs. Donald Woodward Easter of Charlottesville, Virginia and Lake Forest, Illinois. He graduated from Hampden-Sydney College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics. He is an enterprise account executive with Docusign.

The bride, given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, wore a strapless Oscar de la Renta gown. Her cathedral length veil was also worn by her sister which was personalized with both the bride’s and the bride’s sister maiden monograms. She carried a bouquet of light pink peonies. Mrs. Brooke Springman Brennan, sister of the bride, served as Matron of Honor. Maid of Honor was Miss Edith Wills Dubose, sister of the groom. Bridesmaids included: Karen Elizabeth Carter, Lindsay Florence Clonts, Katherine Evans Houser, Lauren Sarah Jones, Caroline Chia Kuo, Emily Elizabeth Muhlberger, Erin Danielle Papka and Emily Elizabeth Sandberg.

Mr. Douglas Follett Easter, cousin of the groom, served as Best Man. Groomsmen included: Burwell DeSaussure Boykin, James Michael Brennan, Graham Kennedy DuBose, Jr., John Phillip Griswold, David William Douglas Maley, Jason David Porter, William Page Sands, Carter Moore Sherwood and Paul Jacob Springman, Jr., brother of the bride.


Music for the ceremony and reception was provided by Equinox Orchestra of Savannah. Flowers that adorned the cross within the Waterside Chapel were given in loving memory of the groom’s father, Charles Wills DuBose. Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents hosted the dinner and reception on the May River Lawn followed by dancing in the Oak Ballroom with music provided by the Right on Band of Virginia Beach, VA. On the eve of the wedding the groom’s mother and sister hosted the rehearsal dinner in the Oak Ballroom. Spending their honeymoon in Italy, Courtney and Brooks will reside in Charleston, South Carolina.
