Rebecca Payne selects a quilt with her foster mother, Kinsley Payne.
As an ongoing community service project, the Quilters of Kershaw County have donated their hard work to local children in the foster care system. In an average year, the quilters make about 24 quilts to donate year round to foster children and their families, said Margaret Degroat, member of the quliters and chairman of the charity projects. Foster parents who attended the Quilters’ meeting Oct. 10 described the quilts as “priceless, precious gifts.”
