WW-L Rotary Club Wild Game Dinner is April 6

As obtaining a college degree is more challenging today than ever, local Rotarians from District 7770 in Kershaw County are committed to providing annual scholarship funds for graduating seniors in Kershaw County.

As such, the West Wateree-Lugoff Rotary Club is hosting its seven annual Wild Game Dinner and Auction on Saturday, April 6 at 833 South Broad in Camden. Since 1990, the West Wateree-Lugoff Rotary Club has provided this service for the community. In total, more than $121,500 in educational funding has been provided for 133 local students.

Single tickets are $50 and $90 per couple. Each includes dinner, beer, wine and other beverages, a tasting from Gorget Distillery and an entry for door prizes. There will be live music along with a silent and live auction featuring a ride along with “Live PD,” restaurant gift certificates, autographed sports memorabilia and more.

Club President Gina Marthers describes the event as “great friends, great food and a great time all for a great cause that comes with wide support for the Kershaw County community. This is the largest fundraising event our Rotary Club puts on annually. We are like family; many of us are parents and/or grandparents and are passionate about continuing education and assisting students achieve their hopes and dreams.”

Catering for the event is being provided by Lilfred’s Restaurant and Creative Catering, quail breasts from Manchester Farms and venison tenderloin from Belinski’s Deer Processing. The menu for the 2019 dinner includes:

• Smoked Wild Pork and Venison

• Grilled Pork Tenderloin with Pepper Jelly Glaze

• Bacon-Wrapped Quail and Pheasant

• Shrimp and Grits

• Fried Catfish Nuggets with Tartar Sauce

• Rice Perlou with Pork Belly

• Lilfred’s Coleslaw

• Green Bean Mushroom Gratin with Tobacco Onions

• Homemade Drop Biscuits

• Banana Pudding

• Chocolate Delight

The dinner and silent auction begin at 6 p.m. Live auction items will go up for bidding at 7:30 p.m. and include golf packages, tickets to major South Carolina tourist attractions and outdoor sporting trip packages.
