The Kershaw County Humane Society (KCHS) will hold a grand opening of the Thiel-Meyer Pet Adoption Center at 128 Black River Road in Camden from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. The center has grown from a dream to a reality, according to a KCHS press release. “The late Judy Thiel, who served as (the society’s) board president, and Austin Meyer, a Columbia native and developer of the flight simulator X-Plane, set this project in motion three years ago and the shelter is ready for business,” organizers said.
