17ers host Murrells Inlet tonight with state tourney berth on line

Scoring three times on a pair of Kershaw County errors in the bottom of the eighth, Murrells Inlet overcame a 7-5 deficit to take an 8-7 victory over visiting Post 17 on Thursday night to force a fifth and deciding game of their best-of-five state American Legion playoff series. Game five will be played tonight at 7 p.m. at American Legion Park in Camden with the winner advancing to the state American Legion tournamrnt in Sumter which opens Saturday, July 25. Thursday's game at Socastee was the third straight one-run game played in this series which opened with an 8-4 KC win on Monday.
